At Viesca Toscana the fourth edition of WIF – Women in Food
Viesca, April 2024 At Viesca Toscana, the splendid estate in the Florentine countryside purchased in 1952 by Salvatore and Wanda Ferragamo, the fourth edition of WIF – Women in Food has just concluded. This forum, organized by COOK and Corriere della Sera to celebrate female talent in the food, wine, and hospitality industries, was directed by Angela Frenda. An exclusive event, spanning two days filled with meetings and talks, brought together 50 Italian and international female professionals in the gastronomic world who have built successful careers, making the sector a driving force for female empowerment. The forum began with a welcome lunch, attended by the hosts Vittoria and Salvatore Ferragamo, followed by a special tasting of the most renowned organic labels, such as Bolle di Borro 2017, Lamelle 2023, Il Borro 2020, led by Salvatore Ferragamo. The event continued with a gala dinner curated by Andrea Campani, Executive Chef of Viesca and Il Borro, who delighted guests with a true farm-to-table experience. The following day featured numerous experiences, culminating in a grand finale dinner by master pizza chef Franco Pepe and dessert offered by Michelin-starred Chef Viviana Varese. A marriage of stories and ideas, an emotional and powerful encounter. This is WIF, a state of mind of sharing and sisterhood.
