Because Il Borro is a completely organic farm of the Ferragamo family, which proves that the combination of tradition and innovation in agriculture makes a balance between nature, man and the region possible and promotes biodiversity. The environmental and social project BioBienenApfel presents the Ferragamo family with the BEE Good Award 2023 for their sustainable commitment, which is exemplary in this passion worldwide.
Beekeeping plays a very special role in Il Borro’s business philosophy because of its crucial importance for the local ecosystem. The number of beehives increased from 30 to 72 last year. The agricultural work focuses on the wine, which grows on soil that is still partly worked with a horse-drawn plough in order to limit the compaction of the soil as much as possible so that it can regenerate and retain its fertility.

The BEE Good Award 2023 was personally presented to Vittoria and Salvatore Ferragamo on 2 October at their estate Il Borro.
